Local community festival.
AGS will have a stall.

Sun 5 Sep 2010, 11am - 4.30pm : Burston Strike School Rally
Burston (near Diss) Norfolk
This rally commemorates the strike from 1 April 1914 - for 25 years - by children at Burston School over the dismissal of two good teachers, Tom and Kitty Higdon. The Higdons had failed to carry out the establishment idea that they should teach the children to conform. They even wanted decent buildings and equipment for the kids! Teachers, parents and children set up a successful alternative school that carried on until age forced the retirement of the Higdons.
There will be an AGS stall.

Sun 12 Sep 2010, 12 noon : Anti-cuts demo at TUC, Manchester
Demonstration at Trades Union Congress 2010 against cuts, calling for the TUC to organise national action.
Called by National Shop Stewards Network and others.

Sat 18 Sep 2010, All day : Women Chainmakers' Festival
The Black Country Living Museum, Tipton Road, Dudley, West Midlands DY1 4SQ
The Festival lasts from the 15th to the 19th September but the main parade is on the Saturday.
It celebrates the 100th anniversary of the women chain-makers successful strike for a minimum wage.
